My Little Lion

Excuse all the pictures but I wanted Devins family to see how cute this little Lion is :)
Devin couldn't come with us to the trunk or treat at the church last night so I had to take a few pictures with him before we left!

Payday!

I remember paydays, you know.. that great day every 2 weeks when all your hard work pays off with a fabulous check!!! Well, since I stopped working paydays come in a different form... but just as rewarding! Today was one of those paydays for me!
For the last few weeks I've been teaching Gavin all his body parts... usually 2 or 3 a week... it has been fun watching him remember them and point to them when I ask... but usually I can only get him to point out 1 or 2 before he loses interest... well, this morning while I was changing his diaper I got him to show me his eyes, nose, hair, ears, toes, fingers and belly button all in a row! I was SO proud of him! I love seeing all my hard work pay off!!!

Worst mom ever!

So this morning after chasing Gavin around the bed to get him dressed, we were rolling around on the bed laughing and then all of the sudden... THUD! Gavin ate it.. bad.. off the side of the bed... now it wouldn't have been so bad if he had just hit the floor but unfortunately in Washington they have these stupid baseboard heating systems instead of central air heating systems... so his right side of his face met up with it on the way down... poor guy screamed his head off and grabbed the side of his face... immediately it swelled up and started to bruise... here's the picture I took minutes after he calmed down... I feel horrible!!! Now I just need to keep watching him to make sure it's not broken! Where's Dr. Todd when you need him! I miss my old job.....

Gavins First Birthday!

When he woke up from his nap after church he was excited to find a ton of balloons to chase around and play with!

Then the Ricks family came over to celebrate and bring him his first present! He was so good at unwrapping and super ecstatic to find a new stuffed puppy!

Then LaRee gave him a taste of her cupcake... he obviously loved it!

Earlier that day I had made these cute cupcakes! I was so happy they had turned out so well!

A bunch of our friends then came over to celebrate with us and sing Gavin Happy Birthday! I blew out his candle and he went to town on the cupcake... yum!

Then he opened up all his presents!

And Jack even helped with one!

He was so excited for all the new books!

What a wonderful year it has been! We couldn't feel more blessed to have such a wonderful amazing little guy in our family! We love you Gavin!

One year ago today....

One year ago today.... Devin and I were extremely blessed with the most amazing beautiful baby boy!! We love you Gavin! Happy 1st birthday! I can't believe how fast the time has flown!

I'm back

Well, I went home to visit my little sister Holly (picture below) and I kept forgetting to get my camera out... so here's the few I did take... This is Holly and her family... Bruin had gotten so big already! It was so great to spend everyday with her! I wish we could live closer... someday right!?


Gavin was obsessed with his Grandpa... all day long he would call out his name hoping he would appear and was thrilled when he finally would! So cute! They would play every night together... it's too bad we live so far away! I can't wait for Christmas! Thanks again family for such a great week!

Pumpkin Patch Fun

Yesterday I flew home to visit my sister Holly and my parents for the week... and we decided as we were driving home today as we passed this pumpkin patch we had to stop and take a few pictures! So here are a few pictures of Gavin and Bruin with their first pumpkins! So cute! Gavin even took a bite out of one... yum!

Gavin was determined to get to Bruin.. we kept having to move them farther apart... we never were successful at getting a good picture of them together :) Oh well, maybe we'll try again with matching clothes!

Dental news

Yesterday was a BIG day for me... I'm unfortunately one of those people who recieve the great news that I have a cavity everytime I go to the dentist... soft enamel they tell me.. and I mean EVERY TIME!! So when I went in for my cleaning yesterday I was completely surprised when the dentist told me I didn't have one.. not ONE!! Yeah! I've never left the dentist office so happy! I bet you didn't care to read this but I had to note this memorable moment!

Bad day

Poor little buddy is having a bad day... this morning after he got up, he began chasing after me as I was loading the washing machine and he ate it.. and not like any normal fall, the poor guy face planted with his tooth cutting through his top lip... first time he's hurt himself enough to bleed... he's so tough though, after a few tears he was back on his chipper way until he shut his hand in the drawer, pulled the huge laundry tub down on him, and then accidentley bumped his mouth again... all within 15 mins... he's too busy for his own good... here's his fat lip minutes after it happened :)

Mariners Game

We went to another Mariners game last night and brought along Kacie and Adam (and thier 4 week old Cade) Thankfully Gavin handled so much better this time... no tears! In fact he loved it! He clapped everytime the crowd cheered and smiled constantly!

YEAH for the start of THE BIGGEST LOSER and for THE OFFICE Premier tomorrow night!! I love when I have a show to look forward to curling up on the couch to watch each week!

Lunch?

Okay, so I'm starting to get sick of giving Gavin the same old things for lunch... what do/ did your 11 month old child like to eat for lunch? Any ideas would be appreciated! :)

Great Weekend

Devin and I were lucky enough to have my Dad, Mom, sister Holly, her husband Phil, and my new nephew Bruin for the weekend! They came for the BYU game on Saturday... great game! Then Holly decidced to stay for the week! Yeah! It's been such a fun week having her sweet 4 1/2 week old to play with... sorry Phil, you probably miss him!
