Beautiful San Diego!

Tomorrow is a GOOD day! We'll be flying out to San Diego for 10 days!!! I can't wait to lay out on the sand and soak in some sun! Devin has been waiting all year to play in those waves and scuba dive down beneath! I hope Gavin enjoys it just as much as we do! I'll post pics when we get back!

The Secret Life of an American Teenager

Everytime I see a commercial for this abc FAMILY show I'm sadden to tears. (literally, but I think it's due to the new motherhood role I've taken on) How can they have a FAMILY TV show about a teenager getting pregnant??? Now, I haven't seen it... and don't plan on ever watching it... but from what I can tell it seems that they are making it look like pregnancy for a teenager is an accepted thing. (After the initial shock I'm sure) How can a FAMILY oriented channel support this? Is this REALLY what the life of a teenager is now days? I saw in the news a week or two back where these 15 teenagers made a pack to get pregnant... are they crazy??? I didn't see the movie Juno either (obviously because my feelings toward this issue are what they are) but I have to wonder if all this positive attention that has been given recently has affected the teenagers and children of this generation. How can we be okay with children having children??? These poor babies being born.. I can only wonder how our Heavenly Father feels about sending them to these circumstances. I worry for my sweet innocent little Gavin and what the world will be like when he is a teenager!

Which Disney Princess Are You?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Free-spirited and wise. You have a strong passionate spirit that touches and changes all who know you. The wisdom and common sense that you have is really what guides you through life. Even so, you also have a very playful side that loves adventure and excitement.

After Church...

After church today I pulled all the grandpas together for pictures! I couldn't resist the opportunity for Gavin to have a picture with all 4 generations in it! Plus, I knew his Grandma would really enjoy seeing what she was missing out on! I'll probably have more pictures with them next weekend when they get back from Canada... don't worry , I'll post those too :)

Family in town!

We were lucky enough to have Devins dad, brother, and both his grandfathers come today so they can go on a big fishing trip this next week! Devins Aunt and Uncle had a BBQ so we could all enjoy being together for the night! Gavin LOVED it!

4th of July

As I have mentioned before... we love our ward here in Washington! We have made some really great friends here! And that includes our friends Adam and Kacie Callen! We spent the 4th of July with them and Gavin couldn't get enough of them! I love how much more comfortable he is getting around people! Doesn't Kacie look great as a mom? She's expecting he first (a boy) in a month and a half... I'm so excited for them! I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th and enjoyed the fireworks... we watched them on the TV while playing Monopoly :) Life sure changes when you have a little one!

Yes, I finally read it...

Okay, after months of my sisters bugging me to read it (they tried to get me to read Harry Potter too but I never gave in on that one) and my sister Kristen sending me home with the book a month ago... I finally gave in this weekend and picked it up. Now, I do LOVE to read, but I feel if I'm going to put the time into actually sitting down and using my precious moments while Gavin is taken his nap it better be worth something to me... like a gospel doctrinal book or something to benefit me in some way. That way I don't feel guilty for the lost time. So when I was told to read a book called Twilight and it was about Vampires I was not that excited. I finally opened it up and 3 days later... no real deep cleaning had been done to my house... or anything else productive... I finished it. It WAS fabulous! And even a little scary! My sisters were right... and now I will be forced to give up more of my precious time as I now feel the need to read the next 2 books in the series... and I hear the 4th comes out this August... Sorry to everything I have neglected but it really has been nice to have a guilty pleasure to look forward to when my cute little guy goes down for his naps!
P.S. I just found the movie trailer and you have to see it! It gets me so excited for it to be released in December! Take a peak.... http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=33429578
