Okay, so I'm starting to get sick of giving Gavin the same old things for lunch... what do/ did your 11 month old child like to eat for lunch? Any ideas would be appreciated! :)
It's so funny that you ask this...because I've been wondering the same thing for Brinley...since I'm home with her more now, I don't know what to feed her...I thought I could do the standby PB&J but she doesn't seem to care for them much...I guess it doesn't get any easier:}
Hi April, Okay I have some ideas but Most you probably have already tried. We like costco chicken nuggets and corn dogs cut up, pasta, peas, black beans, applesauce, any fruit really small and cut up, we love Pb&J cut into small pieces. They say to wait until their 2 i think but If he tries it and there is no peanut reaction you should be fine. all my kids had PB&J by age 1. I make homemade chicken nuggets made with eggs, milk and bread crums, I also like to take lunch meat, like ham and wrap it with cream cheese. My kids also like cream cheese and jam sandwhich's. My mom use to make us banana and mayo sandwhich's, banana and paenut butter, and mayo and cheese sandwhich's, the kids love the different flavors. Mac and cheese homemade or store bought. The 15 month old I watch loves Pizza! But really small bites without crust and without the bottom crust. You can also take white rice, cream of mushroom or veggie soup, and cooked veggied steamed. Then you blend it all up and server warm. They can feed themselves because it will stick really good to the spoon. It is a big mush. Great to freeze too. We freeze PB&J sandwhich's and then 10 min before lunch I pull them out and they are ready to eat. Saves on time. THis is really nasty but my kids like spam and vienna sausages too. They have reduced fat spam not. I always cook up chicken really soft and freeze it and then either reheat it or just serve right after I cook it up. Shred it or break into small pieces. That's all I can think of If I think of more I will tell you. Oh bagels with melted cheese and tomato. Like a mini pizza.
Hi April! I love reading your blog, you are so cute! Ethan likes chicken nuggets, sandwiches, cut up fruit, pasta, left-over dinner, yogurt, LOVES cheese sticks cut up, cottage cheese mixed with yogurt, peas, corn, he pretty much eats whatever we eat now. In fact, he insists on it. If i try to feed him something different than I'm eating he just cries for my food....so I have to eat healthy!
You will be thinking about this for like the next 10 years. But he can pretty much eat whatever you eat now...Cason is almost eating whatever we eat (just in littler portions) Here are some of the things we eat: pp&j chicken nuggets quesadilla (my kids love dipping it in the salsa..kids LOVE to dip!) noodles (any shape) with spaghetti sauce (I love Prego) noodles with a little butter and shredded parmesan leftovers from dinner eggs and toast (works for lunch too) mini pizza (english muffin with sauce and cheese, cut up) sweet potato fries (chop up a sweet potato add a little olive oil and salt on cookie sheet 400 for 20 min) coucous (my kids LOVE it, though its a bit messy) fried rice (leftover rice, egg, and chopped up veggies with a little sauce) pigs in a blanket (I cut my hotdog lengthwise and then in half, so there is a quarter in each...and I get the reduced fat crescant rolls) yogurt bagels, just tear it small, my kids love to dip them in cream cheese I'll try to think of some more.
I ALWAYS serve lunch with a fruit, whether it be fresh or canned (canned pinapple, pears, peaches, etc you can all get in their own juice instead of the sugary syrup)
