Bad day

Poor little buddy is having a bad day... this morning after he got up, he began chasing after me as I was loading the washing machine and he ate it.. and not like any normal fall, the poor guy face planted with his tooth cutting through his top lip... first time he's hurt himself enough to bleed... he's so tough though, after a few tears he was back on his chipper way until he shut his hand in the drawer, pulled the huge laundry tub down on him, and then accidentley bumped his mouth again... all within 15 mins... he's too busy for his own good... here's his fat lip minutes after it happened :)

Mariners Game

We went to another Mariners game last night and brought along Kacie and Adam (and thier 4 week old Cade) Thankfully Gavin handled so much better this time... no tears! In fact he loved it! He clapped everytime the crowd cheered and smiled constantly!

Yeah for Holidays!

I love holidays for lots of reasons... but most of all becuase I get to have Devin home with Gavin and I! We decided to go to Seattle with our friends the Roberts to the Locks. For those of you that haven't heard of this place... I'll explain down below... it's so fun to see and a really cool place to visit! Side note: Only in Washington would we be still wearing sweaters on September 1st :)

They have a room down beneath where you can watch the fish swim against the currant. Gavin and Emily loved it!
Okay, so here is where the magic happens in the Locks... the fresh water and the salt water meet here... so in order to not mix them they have this huge bridge. But they needed to create a way so that the boats could get through... this is where the Locks come into play! The boats move into this little blocked off area and then the doors close behind them. Then the water emptys out or fills up to the the level of the water they need to enter. then the doors open back up and the boats sail out... so cool to watch!

Bathroom fun!

Everyday I let Gavin play in the bathroom while I shower. At first I would put him in his swing... when he got older I would put him in his exersaucer... and these last 2 months I've put him on the floor with a few toys. (Well, this last week he has mastered his crawling technique.... and he he mastered pulling himself up on anything to stand long ago... so now that he can do both together it's dangerous what he can get himself into. ) So this morning I jumped in the shower to hurry to get ready for church and closed Gavin in with me. A few minutes into my shower I heard a happy giggling in the far corner.. so I peeked out to find this! I know this happens to everyone but it's so much fun to see your child find the toilet paper roll for the first time! It's just another reminder of how old he is getting :(

The Host

SO I finally read it... I say finally cuz it took me a little while to get in to it... very confusing and a little too sci-fi of a beginning... but once I got past the first 60 pages it started to get good, and I actually really enjoyed it! It even had a feel good kind of ending! SO would I recommend you read it too??? YES!

Hobble Creek Half Marathon

How can you NOT enjoy all 13.2 miles of this race when you are running in this??? It felt so great to be back in those gorgeous Utah mountains! What a great time I had! Surprisingly I felt pretty good too! I can't wait to do it again!

This is one of my friends Pam that ran with me!(she's clapping at Gavin)
Thanks again for letting us stay with you :) We had a wonderful time!

Coming to the finish line!

All done! Gavin was so happy to finally get to touch me... he had been following me with my mom and dad by car the whole way!

Problem? Maybe...

I don't know if I've mentioned it but I've been training for the Hobble Creek Half Marathon for the last few months... I LOVE to run and I'm one of those odd people that actually crave it so I'm super excited that the race is finally here!! This weekend I fly to Utah to run with some of my girlfriends.... SO, the PROBLEM.. you ask? I looked up the altitude out of curiosity to see how different it would be in Utah... well, I discovered I'm at 30 ft above sea level and I'll be running at 4,500 ft... interesting huh? SO, have any of you ran at that big of a diffference and know what I should expect?

For those of you that know me.... I don't just want, but need dessert every night... yes you read that right... every night! So while staying with Garrett and Kristen last week they introduced me to the wonderful world of popcorn with milk duds... yum!! Anyone that hasn't tried this needs to... the fantastic mix of butter salt and warm chocolate... doesn't get any better!

Huntington Beach

For the last few days of our trip we drove to Huntington Beach to spend time with our good friends Garrett and Kristen Fuller... (and their dog Duke) They live 2 blocks form the beach so Devin couldn't have been any happier! We went on walks in the morning, played on the beach all day, and ate fabulous food each night! Thanks again you guys for letting us crash with you!

Grandma and Aunt McKay came to visit as soon as we got there. It was so fun to see them! Gavin loved it!

Gavin with Aunt McKay... how cool it is that he has an Aunt that's 12 years old!?

He wanted to go out in the water with Devin!

Garrett had just had surgery on his foot so he wasn't able to get in the water with us... but when he did go down to the beach he would take a bike so that he could keep up with us! it was hilarious!

How can you resist those blue eyes in the morning?!

Gavin loved their dog Duke!

The poor dog was tough and brave with Gavin constantly pulling on him! He loved him... maybe too much! :)

I got lucky enough to catch this picture of Gavin giving me a kiss! I love his kisses! He grabs my face and with a wide open mouth he gives me loves! What a good boy he is!
