"Mom, can I pack my bag yet?"

"Mom, can I pack my bag yet?" I've heard this question a couple times a day for the past week. I'm happy to say we're finally getting out of this rainy gloomy weather and heading to California! I'm excited for Drew to finally get to meet his Grandma and Grandpa Jolley! Can you tell?

And especially excited to spend a little much needed time with my parents and sisters family! Plenty of pictures I'm sure to come from the visit!!

2 hospitals and an abulance

I've been informed I haven't given an update on little Drew. He's doing much better now (except for the lingering ear infection that he can't have antibiotics for )! So, here's what happened: On Wednesday he came down with the rash and we saw the doctor for the first time. Then it got worse on Thursday and we started the benadryl. By Friday it had moved to his face (and every single spot of his body) and started looking like bruises. We saw the doctor again and they took his blood for some testing. By that night he wouldn't stand on his legs without shaking and wouldn't crawl on his right leg. I did 3 hours of research on the Internet that night after he went to bed and came to the conclusion it was something called serum sickness. He woke up at 2am with swollen hands and feet and then started vomiting 4 times in 15 mins. That's when I rushed him to the ER (where he threw up 2 more times... with blood in it). When they saw that they hooked him up to an IV and called an ambulance to take him up the Children's hospital instead. We spent the next day and a half sitting in a hospital room watching his rash slowly disappear. The conclusion after lots of doctors taking a peak at him... serum sickness. Don't you love when you're right! They're really wasn't anything that needed to be done except watch him, give him fluids through IV and make sure nothing crazy happened internally. I just held him most the time as he slept, played, and threw up. We went home on Sunday afternoon and the rash was fully gone by Tuesday. Not a mark left on him! Crazy! No more Penicillin family antibiotics for him! Thank you all for your prayers and calls.

Here are a couple pics form the fun weekend. Sorry for the iPhone quality and my loss of sleep/ no make up look! lol!

Turns out Drew is Allergic...

Turns out Drew is allergic to Amoxicillin. Can you tell? Don't be worrying... I'm already doing that.... LOTS of that! Still trying to get it all under control here. Swelling, itching, crying, joint aching, and out right ugliness. Thank you (3 trips to the doctor) and Prescription strength Benadryl. I'll keep you all posted on the progress.
