The Zoo

Devin went out of town for a boys week in Florida (Disney WOrld and Scuba diving) so Gavin and I decided we deserved to go to the zoo! Kacie and Cade came with us and we had a great time! Thanks Kacie for taking a few pics and getting them to me!
The monkeys were his favorite!

He was terrified though when one of the gorillas reached out to touch us!
The petting zoo was great! He loved being able to finally touch the animals!

"Wanna go for a ride on the scooter?"

I hear Devin ask this question to Gavin almost everyday for the last few weeks after we eat dinner.... and for all this time I thought they were going out and standing/playing on the scooter.... until now! I went outside to check on them since they had been out longer than usual and found that all this time Devin had meant it literally... he had been riding around with Gavin ON the scooter! I about died... but of course I first had to get a pic of it!

I've been behind....

Okay, so I've been so busy with Father's Day tie orders ... and so has Gavin!(see pic).. I haven't had time to post... so sorry about all the posts at once... but here goes my atempt at catching up!

"Sew.. sew.. sew... ties" he tells me :) funny kid!

AIRPLANES!

There are so many amazing things we forget to take advantage of while we are here in living in Seattle.... one of which is the Museum of Flight! So last night we took Gavin down to see it right after Devin got off work... and boy did he LOVE it!I've never heard him yell airplane so many times! (Warning... lots of pics!! I figured some of you would like to see what they had to offer in that huge museum)

This was my favorite! The Spy Plane! It looked like a space ship!

They had a real airplanes, helicopters, and hot air balloons for kids to pretend to fly!

The WWI and WWII exhibit was probably my favorite! They had the coolest looking planes... these were 2 of my favorites!

The also had a Space exploration exhibit!

Next time you're in Seattle.. it's worth the stop! :) (or you can just show your kiddos these pics!)

Bachelorette

Yes ladies... (and I know some of your husbands watch it too)... the Bachelorette started last night... and I think it's gonna be a fun one to watch this season!

I loved Jillian last season and I know I will love her more in this one! These are the top 5 I chose for her (in random order)...

Kiptyn... (love the name) I thought he should have earned the first impression rose... he was the only guy she actually went asked to come talk to her one on one... it's okay though cuz he'll be there til the end ;)

Juan... I loved him at first and I think she will too...but just from the way he was acting last night about the first impression rose I think he's gonna cause some drama

Michael... I REALLY didn't like him until he tried to teach her some break dancing and then I decided he might be fun for her.. i still think that a break dance instructor is a lame occupation though.. I don't know if I'll be able to get over that

Jake... he seems like a really GOOD guy (almost Mormon like if I dare say so) I think I'm gonna like how sweet and sincere he is... maybe a little too nice guy though... we'll see

Sasha... LOVE him! I don't know why yet but I have a feeling this guy will be around a while. They never showed them one on one talk last night but I have a feeling about this guy! He's my favorite so far!

What were your impressions?!

The 2 loves in his life...

Recently every morning when he wakes up I hear these words in the monitor... "Mama, (pause) cook!" and "Park (pause) Play (pause) Kick!!" I love that he loves to do these things so much and they are perfect for the weather here because one day it will be raining... so we will cook fun things (like cookies and cupcakes that we shouldn't be eating but we do cuz its fun!)

...and the next day it will be sunny... so we will spend almost the whole day playing at the park! Lucky for us we have such awesome parks here!

I love this little man! I never knew how much joy such a little guy could bring to my life!

potty training explanation

I should elaborate on the last post... Some of you have wondered how I knew he wanted to start potty training... well, last Sunday he ran away from me during a diaper change and I found him starting to pee on the living room floor (it's wood thankfully). So the quickest thing I could think to do was pick him up and run him to the toilet to let him finish. Well, he LOVED it! He thought it was so cool to use the toilet and insisted on going to the toilet all day. That is how it all began.... I thought it would be just a crazy day but he has kept it up since... I guess we'll see!

What do these 3 pictures have in common?

This crazy little boy of mine has decided on his own over a week ago that he wants to potty train! (I know it's over a year early but since he's willing, I'll let him) That means big boy pull up diapers and one comfy toilet seat and a very happy independent boy... well almost, he still hasn't figured out how to pull his pants up and down ;) But it sure has been nice not having to change a poopy diaper in 10 days! It has been a little more difficult though trying to find bathrooms everywhere we go... we'll see how long until he's completely trained! Stay tuned for when he graduates to big boy underwear!

18 months old today!

Today was Gavins 18 month mark... I can't believe how old he has gotten! Time goes by too quickly as I'm sure you have all experienced! I knew this blessed day would come when I got to enjoy church again... and I think Gavin did too (after a few screams and tears). Thanks to the most amazing nursery leaders I really felt comfortable dropping him in and kissing him goodbye... though I did check in between classes to snap a quick pick through the window :)

Here he is walking into the room...

And when he watched me leave...

And and hour later...

Good boy!
Anyway, for my own documentation and for his grandparents who never see him I thought it would be fun to write down all the words he says on a daily basis this week... it was really fun to see how much of a vocabulary he has gotten... here is what I remembered to write down (94 words in all):

car, tractor, bike, motorcycle, stuck, banana, box, ball, football, golf ball, jacket, beep, sock, shoe, cracker, cheese, cup, bowl, spoon, fork, hot, mama, Dada, Kacie, Cade, Amy, Phil, Lindsay, Matt, grandpa, Jesus, baby, pillow, bed, clock, tweet, paper, train, choo-choo, chair, peas, beans, hi, hello, bye, crazy, two, go, outside, Elmo, block, cookie, pizza, quesadia, chicken, ouch, tree, rock, pine cone, key, love you, cloud, moon, apple, belly button, elbow, knee, book, broom, trash, stinky, please, thank you, more, up, glasses, blankey, bubble, boat, pants, home, chip, wet, zebra, clothes, flower, temple, pen, cook, phone, puddle, off, out, and mine

Easter Sunday

Unfortunately these are the only picks I got yesterday... but aren't they adorable in their matching ties?! This was my favorite Easter gift to them! We had a wonderful day despite the rain (as usual right?) and totally LOVED the Easter programs at church! Don't worry, there were also lots of eggs and candy too! Hope you all had a fabulous Easter!

Wanna know where I got these ties? You guessed it... me! So, if you want your cuties to be matching for Father's Day in June check out my new blog www.whileheissleeping.blogspot.com

"I'm so glad when daddy comes home..."

I think Gavin and I both feel this way each day!
