My excuse... it's a good one!

Thank you to everyone who has sent me emails, phone calls, and facebook messages. I'm sorry I have died off from everything! My excuse for my absence for the last 2 months I promise is a good one! Anyone remember how incredibly sick I was when I was pregnant with Gavin? Well... I got just as lucky with this one! I have been unbelievably nauseous 24/7 but we are so happy to announce BABY #2 is on it's way due April 29th!!

That's not all we've been up to lately though... here's the quick recap on the last 2 months:

-I had a birthday.. I'm now a 27 year old lady

-We all went to California to visit both our families for a month (Devin stayed for a week of it)

-Gavin turned the big 2 years old!!

-We're moving again this weekend (this will be Gavins 5th move since he was born!)... don't worry, just 15 mins away from where we are now

*I have a ton of pics from these events... I will post them in posts to follow!

Seattle Temple Picnic

Our temple has been closed for cleaning so a few friends and I thought it would be fun to have a picnic on the grounds so the kiddos could enjoy the view of our gorgeous temple! We are so lucky to have a temple 20 mins away! If I haven't mentioned it before... Gavin has this total obsession with temples! I'm glad we took pics so I could put one in his room! Here's a few of what we took that day!

Holy Hair!

I was going through old files of pics in my computer today and found this one of Gavins hair the day he was born! Should any child be born with that much hair.. he obviously was mine! It's still crazy to me that it all turned blond!

HELP... any advise!!

SO... Gavin started climbing out of his crib last week. Since then I can't get him to take a nap during the day and it takes me forever to get him to sleep at night (an hour and a half last night) Fun right? So he and I are both exhausted! I ordered the convertible piece to his crib to make it a toddler bed but it won't come in for a week or two... I've tried the cry it out method but he'll hold out a long time (an hour of crying at the door and not a single let up) I've placed his mattress on the floor in hopes he would get tired enough and crash.. no luck! I've threatened.. I've promised... I don't know what to do until that convertible piece comes in and then just let him cry it out knowing he can crawl back into his bed! HELP! Any advice would be helpfully... even if I don't know you! Thanks!

Heat

say this with all honesty... I have NEVER been so hot in my life for such a consecutive length of time!!! And I grew up in 105 degree day summers. The difference is in Seattle houses, condos, and apartments AREN'T built with AIR CONDITIONING!!! It was 90 degrees outside last night at 10pm and we had all our windows open because it was cooler outside than in... ridiculous!!My this heat wave pass us quickly!!
Gavin has begged me every night to stand outside and eat popsicles.. he ate 3 last night :)

"Yum!"

"I think something is wrong mom?"

"No!"

"NOOOOO!!" I laughed and laughed! I've never seen him so upset over a broken popsicle... he still ate it of course.. but I saw him consider throwing it down in anger before he decided to)

Derby Days

Growing up we had this fun little town holiday called Big Hat Day.. I don't know what it celebrated... (maybe I should research into it).. but I didn't care.. I loved all the festivities that weekend had to offer. Well much like that they have a fun holiday here called Derby Days. Once again, I don't know the purpose.. but it sure was fun! We enjoyed an awesome Pancake breakfast put on by the fire department (fire trucks are one of Gavins favorite things at the moment) and then watched the town parade. Anyone could register to be in it and ride their bike.. I wished Gavin was older... he really would have loved to be the center of attention! The rest of the day was full of Carnival rides, yummy food booths, and bounce houses. I think Gavin's favorite part though was the bike race. He cheered and giggled as the rode past over and over as the circled the streets. It made me realize how much I love little towns and hope to live in on permanently someday!

Quirky

This funny boy NEVER leaves the house without 2 "somethings" in his hands and a sippy cup. So I had to take a pic of him yesterday to remember his quirkiness :) A sweat band and a ball... usually there are a few cars too! I love this boy!
He thought I was pretty funny taking a picture of him! I love his face when he laughs!

4th of July Treat!

Want something fun to make for 4th of July... I found this on the internet yesterday and Gavin and I had fun making it today! Here's the recipe:

1 cup sugar

3 T. water

1 ½ t. vanilla

¼ c butter or margarine

3 drops of red and blue food coloring ( I used much more)

2 quarts of popped corn

You will make this in three batches one for each color. First mix together sugar, water, vanilla, and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour over 2 quarts of popcorn. Stir until well coated. Pour on a cookie sheet or wax paper to cool. This is your white color popcorn. Next mix together the sugar, water, vanilla, butter and red food coloring in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour over 2 quarts of popcorn. Stir until well coated. Pour on a cookie sheet or wax paper to cool. This is your red popcorn. Now mix together the sugar, water, vanilla, butter and blue food coloring in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour over 2 quarts of popcorn. Stir until well coated. Pour on a cookie sheet or wax paper to cool. This is your blue popcorn. Lastly, pour the three colors of popcorn in a bowl or brown paper bag. Mix until the colors are blended. Enjoy!

Ed... I will miss you

Last nights Bachelorette was worth writing about... poor Ed was given an ultimatum from work and I couldn't have been prouder of him for making the right decision. I was just appalled that Jillian made him feel like he was wrong in choosing to go home... seriously, he had a 1 in 10 chance of being picked at this point... yes, he was in my top 3 and probably would have been in hers too... but I don't think she would've picked him at the end (she said it herself when she talked about how she liked yucky Wes because he had a bad boy side.. that's definitely not Ed... he's too genuine)
As for my know top 3... Kiptyn, Reid, and (now been bumped up with Ed's leaving) Michael
I hope Wes gets kicked off next week... seriously? How can she fall for that dude.. he's got sweet talking slime ball written all over him! I can't wait until the truth comes out. And I love how he thinks his career will be boosted from this... I guarantee every girl that has seen this show won't buy his cd... he's an idiot
okay.. I'm done ranting... until next week :)

Hiding

I was ironing this morning as Gavin was playing with everything in our laundry room around me at my feet when it became suspiciously quiet... I started to look around to find him but couldn't... then I heard a giggle in the dryer... look what I found! Classic!
By the way... did you notice his big boy underwear? I bought him both CARS (his favorite movie) and ELMO underwear about 3 weeks ago! He's been so great still with the potty training! I don't let him wear them out of the house yet though... I've been to worried he'll forget to tell me... maybe in a few more weeks! Oh, how fast he's growing :(

Uncle Dallas

Gavin was SO excited to see his Uncle Dallas these last few days! He has moved here for just 2 months while he studies to take the LSAT next month! We are so excited to have him close by! Gavin picks up his play phone a couple times a day and says "Hello? Dallas!" He loves playing with him!

Father and son camp out

Devin and Gavin headed out this past weekend fro the father and son camp out! Gavin couldn't have been more excited! We pulled the tent out a few days before hand to clean it out for the last time we had used it in Lake Powell and Gavin became obsessed with it! Even today he has mentioned the tent probably 3 or 4 times! We'll definitely be going camping a few more times this summer! (Sadly, Devin didn't take any pics so thanks Kacie for this one... Julie, do you have any of my boys?)

The Zoo

Devin went out of town for a boys week in Florida (Disney WOrld and Scuba diving) so Gavin and I decided we deserved to go to the zoo! Kacie and Cade came with us and we had a great time! Thanks Kacie for taking a few pics and getting them to me!
The monkeys were his favorite!

He was terrified though when one of the gorillas reached out to touch us!
The petting zoo was great! He loved being able to finally touch the animals!

"Wanna go for a ride on the scooter?"

I hear Devin ask this question to Gavin almost everyday for the last few weeks after we eat dinner.... and for all this time I thought they were going out and standing/playing on the scooter.... until now! I went outside to check on them since they had been out longer than usual and found that all this time Devin had meant it literally... he had been riding around with Gavin ON the scooter! I about died... but of course I first had to get a pic of it!

I've been behind....

Okay, so I've been so busy with Father's Day tie orders ... and so has Gavin!(see pic).. I haven't had time to post... so sorry about all the posts at once... but here goes my atempt at catching up!

"Sew.. sew.. sew... ties" he tells me :) funny kid!

AIRPLANES!

There are so many amazing things we forget to take advantage of while we are here in living in Seattle.... one of which is the Museum of Flight! So last night we took Gavin down to see it right after Devin got off work... and boy did he LOVE it!I've never heard him yell airplane so many times! (Warning... lots of pics!! I figured some of you would like to see what they had to offer in that huge museum)

This was my favorite! The Spy Plane! It looked like a space ship!

They had a real airplanes, helicopters, and hot air balloons for kids to pretend to fly!

The WWI and WWII exhibit was probably my favorite! They had the coolest looking planes... these were 2 of my favorites!

The also had a Space exploration exhibit!

Next time you're in Seattle.. it's worth the stop! :) (or you can just show your kiddos these pics!)
