Mr. Darcy's Diary

For all of you Pride and Prejudice lovers, you need to get this book. My friend Joanna let me borrow it a week ago and I read it in 4 days! It's fabulous! It gives Mr. Darcy's side of the story... you won't be able to put it down. Happy reading!

I...

I know... the church is true and is the biggest blessing in my life
I believe... it is important to have time alone to think each day
I fought... a lot with my parents when I was in high school
I am angered... at myself when I am not patient
I love... running, especially outside on a beautiful day!
I need... more sleep
I take... my birthcontrol at 10:30 every morning... very important!
I hear... silence...Gavin just went down for a nap!
I drink... water... lots of it!
I hate... rude people
I use... my breadmaker almost every week for different things!
I want... more hobbies
I like... anything sweet to eat
I feel... extremely blessed
I wear... my scrub bottoms even though I don't work anymore
I left.... my keys in the car 2 days ago and didn't find them until last night
I do... make dinner every night
I hope... I become a mother just as amazing as my mom one day
I dream.... crazy dreams! I have the most vivid dreams.. I always remember them in the morning!
I drive... with my GPS system (I don't know how to get anywhere here yet!)
I listen... to my parents and sisters advise
I type... with 4 fingers (2 from each hand.. it drives Devin crazy)
I think... motherhood is a lot harder than I thought it would be... and much more rewarding
I wish... I could shelter Gavin from all the drugs and violence and everything else he'll probably learn and see at school someday
I am... very afraid of heights
I regret... not going on a mission
I care... soooo much for my little family
I said... that I would never get pregnant
I wonder... what my life will be like in 10 years
I cry... when I'm frusterated and when I think of how much I love my husband and son
I lose... at chess everytime I play against my husband
I leave... my house at least once a day
I should... not be so hard on myself
Do it! If you had time to read mine then you have time to do yours! :)

Sleeping through the night

I hesitate to write this as it might jinks my luck but Gavin slept his first long night last night! He slept a whole 8 hrs and 15 mins without waking once! Unfortunatly I woke almost every hour in a panic thinking he had died or something... and was very surprised to find him smashed up against the corner of his crib when he did wake up (how he managed to move himself clear across his crib and switch from a horizontal to a vertical position is beyond me!) I've been doing the horrible cry it out method this last week and I think my hard work has finally began to pay off! We'll see what he does tonight and the rest of the week... but hopefully this will be a beautiful new begining to real sleep for me!

Doesn't this photo just make you happy?!

My dad emailed me this pic this morning and I loved it! Thought you all might enjoy it if you hadn't seen it already!

It's about time... I know!

So, I figured it was time for us to join the 21st century and create our family blog! We have enjoyed reading and seeing your lives change... but now its time for us to let you in on ours! So sit back and enjoy the Family updates!

The start of it all...

As most of you know and remember, we were married on May 13, 2006 in the Salt Lake Temple. What a blessing it is to know that we have been sealed to eachother for eternity!

After we were married....

We continued to live in Provo while Devin finished school at BYU and I continued to work at the Maxillofacial/ Oculoplasty office (AKA facial plastic surgery). By this last summer Devin was excited to be done with school and I was sad to be leaving my office. I loved my job but was ready to take on the new job as a mother! Devin had been accepted for an internship in Cedar Rapids Iowa that we had been very excited about. Life was about to take it's first big turn!

Moving to Iowa...

We faced the 3 day drive in the middle of August with all our belongings cramed into a Uhaul hitched to our SUV. Did I mention I was 7 months pregnant? The trip was honestly a long blur of flat land and hard uncomfortable beds. We were excited to finally get there and settle in. Iowa was humid and hot when we got there and below freezing when we left. But the fall was BEAUTIFUL! We enjoyed getting to know our ward (we were the only young couple in it) and making friends with those Devin worked with. Having a baby in an unfamiliar hospital and with no family or freinds near by was an interesting experience I don't think I would recommend. :) But Devin was an amazing coach and took great care of me! What an amazing loving husband I have! My mom also flew out immediately and stayed with us for 2 weeks, helping with anything and everything she could!Devin enjoyed his 5 month internship with Aegon and the knowledge and experience he gained from it. And I loved experiencing life in the midwest... but we were very excited about the job offer in Washington and the change to life it would bring!

Gavin Dale Jolley is born

On October 19th, 2007 our sweet Gavin joined our happy family! At 7 lbs 3 oz and a week early we were thrilled to finally see the face of the strong kicker that had been lurking inside. With his raspy little cry and bright blue eyes he was ready to face to world! The 3 days of labor was well worth the wait... and pain :) He was more perfect than we could have ever imagined!

Washington becomes our home...

Off to Seattle Washington we went... Devin drove all our stuff... and Gavin and I flew out to meet him. We arrived here just 4 weeks ago and have fallen in love. The trees and water are beautiful! Devin loves his job as a commercial analyst for a Real Estate Financial company and we love our ward! We finally have lots of young couples to play with! We have enjoyed driving around the area trying to become more familiar with our new home. We're now excited for what the future holds and are so grateful for all we've been blessed with!

Our favorite boy!

At 4 months old today, Gavin has become the sunshine of our lives! There isn't a day that goes past that I don't get excited to see that huge grin as I go in to pick him up out of his crib in the morning! His ever changing facial expressions are my all day entertainment. His pouty bottom lip sad face is my favorite! He is very attentive to everything around him and always wants to be apart of it all. We talk, read, play, and go on walks together everyday. He even likes to go running with me in the mornings in his jogging stroller! He's become my little buddy and I can't imagine life without him! Devin loves any minute he can get with him. He tickles and teases him constantly trying to get any reaction he can out of him. I know he can't wait until he's older so they can wrestle around the house. Devin is so proud of the constant comments on how much he looks like his dad (except the eyes). Gavin is even starting to turn blonde just like his daddy was as a boy. Each day is a blessing to have him in our family.
